Billy is our trusty scout, always on the lookout for outstanding companies to add to our investment portfolio from an Australasian angle. He doesn’t stop at just finding them; he’s also a pro at crafting the perfect investment structures. Billy holds a spot on the board of Totara.
He started out life as a solicitor at Bell Gully, voted New Zealand’s top commercial law firm, and focused on mid-market M&A as well as IPOs and general corporate work. However, after several years he realised he wasn’t suited to the legal profession (cough was a rubbish lawyer cough), preferring to spend his time helping entrepreneurs grow their business as opposed to being a solicitor focussing on what they can’t do.
Billy moved from New Zealand to London at the start of 2016 and joined our team following a brief stint in consulting. Aside from Bell Gully, Billy also helped found a start-up technology business in Auckland, which has since been sold to trade.
