Liv Simpson

Liv joined the team in 2018 and is responsible for Client Services and assisting in the development of Firm strategy.

She has 12 years of experience and a combination of investment banking, strategic communications, private equity and client service skills.

Liv took a less well-trodden path into Finance by, helpfully, studying English Literature. Relishing a challenge, she started her career as an M&A analyst at Citigroup, working for three years in the TMT and UK teams. After three years of financial statements, formulas and food delivery at the office, she moved to Finsbury, the strategic communications firm, where she focused on Investor Relations advisory for listed businesses, before joining Tenzing during the early stages of Fund I.

Tenzing immediately stood out because of its vibrant and ambitious entrepreneurial nature and its inspiring people. Always on the lookout for a new challenge and a means to improve, Liv gained her CFA charter in 2019 after three glorious years of study (see “closet nerd” to the right).

Home truths

  • She has a twin and they’re mildly competitive (translation: there’s no such thing as winning silver, just losing a gold)
  • She’s a closet nerd who loves exams and words (family games of Boggle & Articulate were always terrifying to guests)

Favourite things

  • Playing the piano in a one-bed flat, now with headphones thanks to a complaining boyfriend
  • Bermondsey Street for the coffee, sourdough and takeaway espresso martinis
