CitNOW Group acquires leading multi-channel messaging platform Web1on1

European mid-market tech investor, Tenzing, announced today that its portfolio company, the CitNOW Group, has acquired Netherlands-based Web1on1, Europe’s leading automotive messaging platform. The acquisition is the latest step in CitNOW Group’s journey to transform the customer journey in automotive.

The integration of Web1on1 will allow CitNOW Group to broaden the reach, functionality and flexibility of its digital communications products throughout the customer journey. Web1on1’s platform offers multi-channel messaging across social media, SMS, video calls and email, as well as chatbots, and integrations to the most popular back-end systems in the industry.

The existing Web1on1 team will continue to support and develop the platform, with synergies across the existing CitNOW Group product suite that will benefit sales and service teams, dealer marketeers and customer care teams globally.

Geoffrey Page-Morris, CEO of CitNOW Group, said: “Web1on1 is an outstanding communication platform, and this collaboration between two technology leaders in automotive dealership software has the potential to transform the way many businesses operate and communicate with their customers. This acquisition is fundamental to our strategy of making life easier for dealerships and transforming the way the automotive world communicates. We look forward to welcoming the team and its customers into the Group family.”

Joost Rijlaarsdam of Web1on1 added: “For the last 12 years, we’ve bootstrapped Web1on1 and earned the trust of hundreds of dealerships and brands across Europe. Now, with the support of CitNOW Group, we’ll be able to harness those strong connections and expand our service to offer an even better experience for Web1on1 customers.”

Christian Hamilton, Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Tenzing, added: “As the automotive world becomes more technologically native, buyers expect more convenience, transparency and faster resolution from the organisations they partner with. CitNOW Group is well-positioned to deliver on these expectations, thanks to the progressive communication features that Web1on1 brings to the Group, enabling dealerships and their customers to interact with each other right from a showroom or workshop floor.”

This latest acquisition follows the integration of Dealerweb, Tootle and Reef Business Systems in the UK, and Quik in the US, into the CitNOW Group. It is the seventh acquisition Tenzing has supported its portfolio companies within the last 12 months.
