Today, we are pleased to announce that our portfolio company, DJH, has acquired MSD Accountants. DJH supports owner-managed businesses and high-net-worth individuals, who rely on them to achieve their ambitions through expert accountancy advice, challenging conversations and innovative technology.
With over 670 professionals across fourteen offices in the Midlands, North West, Yorkshire, the South East, and now Dublin, DJH supports clients across the UK, Ireland and EU with a strong regional footprint and growing international perspective.
This latest acquisition marks DJH’s first overseas expansion and a significant step in its journey toward becoming one of the UK’s top 20 accountancy and professional services firms.
MSD Accountants, a well-established Dublin-based firm with deep sector specialisms and a strong reputation for service, strengthens DJH’s ability to support clients with cross-border planning and EU regulatory compliance. Managing Partner Richard Daly and Head of Assurance Brendan Murtagh will continue to lead the firm and its 30-strong team, ensuring continuity and maintaining trusted relationships with clients across professional services, entertainment, hospitality, construction, automotive, distribution, IT and communications.
James Beardmore, Chief Operating Officer of DJH, commented:
“Dublin has long been a target for DJH due to its position as one of Europe’s leading financial centres. MSD is a fantastic fit, bringing experience across multiple aligned sectors and a strong cultural match.”
“This partnership gives DJH multinational capability, enabling us to better support UK businesses with EU operations, while expanding the value we bring to MSD’s clients through enhanced service lines in areas such as corporate finance, managed IT and HR.”
Matt Nicholson, Investment Lead at Tenzing, added: “DJH’s first international expansion is a significant milestone, and we’re proud to be supporting Scott and the team as they continue to scale with ambition. MSD is a high-quality firm with deep local expertise, and bringing them into the group strengthens DJH’s cross-border capabilities and positions the business for even greater international growth.”
This is the seventh transaction DJH has completed with the support of private equity partner Tenzing since 2022.
