Today, we are pleased to announce that our portfolio company, DJH, has acquired Gooding Accounts, marking the group’s first expansion into the South West of England. DJH supports owner-managed businesses and high-net worth individuals, who rely on them to achieve their ambitions through expert accountancy advice, challenging conversations and innovative technology.

With nearly 900 professionals across 20 offices in the UK and Ireland, DJH is a UK top 30 accountancy and professional services group with a strong regional footprint and growing international presence. The acquisition strengthens DJH’s presence in the South West, extending its reach into Wiltshire while expanding access to specialist services including wills and estate planning, R&D tax credits and corporate finance.

Founded in 2014, Gooding Accounts has built a strong reputation for its technology-led approach to accountancy, supporting start-ups, owner-managed businesses and fast-growing companies across Wiltshire. The partnership enables Gooding Accounts’ clients to continue working with their trusted advisers while benefiting from the broader capabilities and specialist expertise available across the DJH group.

Scott Heath, Chief Executive Officer of DJH, commented:

“The South West has been firmly on our radar, and Gooding Accounts is exactly the kind of practice we look for – technically strong, client-focused, and with a culture that matches our own.

“This partnership is not just about growing our geography. It is about bringing the full weight of DJH’s resources, our specialist teams, technology and infrastructure, to support Gooding’s clients with services they’ve previously not had direct access to.”

Sam Gooding, Founder of Gooding Accounts, added:

“Joining DJH is the right move at the right time. We have built something genuinely special here in Wiltshire, and I am incredibly proud of what the team has achieved. But we are ambitious, and moving into a larger group gives us the platform to go further.

“Katy and I are both fully committed to this business, to this team, and to every client we serve. That doesn’t change. What does change is what we are now able to offer.”

Matt Nicholson, Investment Lead at Tenzing, added:

“We’re delighted to see DJH continue its growth with its first acquisition in the South West. Gooding Accounts has built an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality advice and strong client relationships, making it an excellent fit for the group as DJH continues to expand its national footprint.”

This is the thirteenth transaction DJH has completed with the support of private equity partner Tenzing since 2022.
