Today, we are pleased to announce that our portfolio company, DJH, has acquired SB&P, a well-established accountancy practice based in Bootle. DJH supports owner-managed businesses and high-net-worth individuals, who rely on them to achieve their ambitions through expert accountancy advice, challenging conversations and innovative technology.

With nearly 775 professionals across its office network in the North West, Midlands, Yorkshire, the South East and Ireland, DJH is a UK top 30 accountancy and professional services group with a strong regional footprint and growing international presence. The acquisition strengthens DJH’s presence across Liverpool and the wider North West, with six offices spanning the city centre, Ellesmere Port and the Wirral. Businesses in the region will benefit from enhanced service lines including estate planning, capital allowances, R&D tax credits, corporate finance and technology support.

The addition of SB&P strengthens DJH’s North West presence further. With local leadership remaining unchanged, Wendy McNulty, Rob Young and Suzanne Draper will continue to lead the team, ensuring continuity for clients and a strong cultural fit with DJH’s values.

Scott Heath, Chief Executive Officer of DJH, commented:

“This acquisition aligns perfectly with our strategy of expanding our presence in key regional markets through partnerships with high-quality, client-focused practices. The SB&P team brings excellent local market knowledge and strong client relationships that complement our existing North West operations.

It is also an exciting time for Liverpool and the wider region, with continued inward investment, regeneration and a growing SME base requiring the right tailored advice to scale.”

Wendy McNulty, Director at SB&P, added:

“We’ve always believed that real relationships are at the heart of everything we do. Joining DJH gives our team and our clients access to a much wider platform, while preserving the personal, advice-led culture we’ve worked so hard to build. We’re excited about what this means for Liverpool.”

Matt Nicholson, Investment Lead at Tenzing, added:

“The North West represents a fantastic regional market – we’re excited to continue scaling DJH’s presence there with such a high-quality team. A warm welcome to everyone at SB&P.”

This is the ninth transaction DJH has completed with the support of private equity partner Tenzing since 2022.
