Today, European tech investor Tenzing announced the extension of its investment in MNI, a leading provider of real-time insight and data for the global foreign exchange, fixed income and energy markets. Headquartered in London, MNI delivers mission-critical data and analysis to financial institutions and market participants worldwide.
Founded in 1983, MNI has established itself as a leading provider of real-time insight for global foreign exchange, fixed income, and energy markets. Since Tenzing’s initial investment in 2022, the business has continued to deliver strong growth, with ARR growing at ~30% CAGR in recent years and its global customer base expanding to approximately 8,500 subscribers. Over the same period, MNI has maintained a net revenue retention rate of more than 115%, reflecting the strength of its value proposition, deep customer relationships, and trusted position within the financial services market.
MNI has continued to evolve its product offering, expanding into commodities and corporate credit while further strengthening its news, data, and analytics offering. As AI becomes increasingly embedded within financial services workflows, MNI’s structured data and machine-readable content is increasing being delivered via API’s directly into agentic workflows and models.
The extension of Tenzing’s investment reflects its continued conviction in MNI, its management team, and the significant opportunity ahead. MNI will continue to benefit from support from Tenzing’s Growth Team, drawing on the expertise of Sherpas and AI Sherpas, Entrepreneurs Panel and M&A expertise as it pursues its next phase of growth.
Terry Alexander, CEO of MNI, stated: “I am delighted to announce that, following four highly successful years together, Tenzing has chosen to continue its investment in MNI as we embark on the next phase of our growth journey. This decision reflects the strength of our partnership and Tenzing’s confidence in our vision, strategy, and future potential. We are deeply grateful for their continued support, trust, and guidance.
I would also like to extend my sincere thanks to our exceptionally talented employees around the world. Their dedication, expertise, and commitment to delivering outstanding service to our valued clients are the foundation of our success. At its core, business is about people, and we are fortunate to have the very best.”
Milan Kellner, Investment Lead at Tenzing, commented: “We are delighted to extend our partnership with Terry and the wider MNI team. Since our initial investment in 2022, the business has continued to execute exceptionally well, combining strong growth with excellent profitability while maintaining its position as a trusted source of intelligence for global financial markets.”
MNI is the sixth investment within Tenzing’s £400m Fund II, which closed in 2020, and is one of twenty-five high-growth tech and tech-enabled businesses within the Tenzing portfolio.
Tenzing and MNI were primarily advised by Raymond James, Jamieson, Oliver Wyman, RSM, Simmons & Simmons, Tatsu, Code&Co, Deloitte and Baker Botts.
