Re-engage

Tackles loneliness and isolation among older people in the UK

Re-engage’s primary mission is to provide companionship and support to isolated seniors, enabling them to reconnect with their communities and live fulfilling lives.

Re-engage’s projects are centred around organising social gatherings and events specifically tailored to older individuals who may be experiencing loneliness. Through their volunteer network, the charity facilitates regular tea parties, outings, and other social activities where older people can meet new friends, share experiences, and enjoy each other’s company.

These initiatives not only combat social isolation but also promote mental wellbeing and improve the overall quality of life for older adults. By fostering meaningful connections and friendships, Re-engage helps seniors build a support network and regain a sense of belonging with their communities.

“A very big thank you to everyone at Tenzing and Piton Trust for choosing to support Re-engage with this fantastic donation. This funding is going to make a huge and real difference to so many lonely and socially isolated older people across the UK.

Here are some examples of the real difference your donation could make:

  • Your support could help us support 10 tea party social groups for a year, bringing together around 150 older people and volunteers on a monthly basis.
  • Your kindness could help us thoughtfully match 20 isolated older people with a call companion and enjoy weekly friendly calls for a year
  • Enable 6 gentle exercise groups to support 48 isolated older people to socialise and improve their physical and mental wellbeing

On behalf of the older people we support, our amazing volunteers and staff, thank you so much for your support to help loneliness for socially isolated older people.”
