Based in Kathmandu, Udana Nepal helps 14 Nepalese girls have a better future. The girls come from remote rural areas, with limited access to an education, with a risk of exclusion. Girls and women from these areas are an easy target for traffickers and some of them are even sold by their own people with the hope of acquiring a better life.
One of the biggest challenge these girls face is changing the stigma around their gender, merely a subject needed for reproduction and work. We believe that through education, they can become financially independent without the need to marry in order to survive. Udana Nepal provides the girls with shelter, food, medicines, etc, and cover their education and all their basic needs in Kathmandu.
